We have completed a collaboration with set designer Joel Spencer to create a blood covered Shangri-La that we will be shooting in until Halloween. We’re partnering with the Pollygrind Film Festival and theatre7 on Oct 7 First Friday to capture their zombies inside the room. We will be open from 6pm-10pm. Swing by!
A Photo Bang Bang original experience.
We put this room together in the last week or so. Marcos laid the floor and put the base coat of paint on the floor and walls. Joel from Happenstance added the faux finish. Curtis and Kayleigh added foot prints and distress to the surfaces.
Last night we got together in the studio to play around with my Polaroid 195. It’s always fun to goof around when testing a camera. Here’s some shots of me, Curtis and Curtis in the tunnel people set we cobbled together. And yes… that’s a ventriloquist dummy in the background. We have all sorts of interesting stuff.
Part of what we offer at Photo Bang Bang is an alternative to quick hit digital photography. We offer a whole host of analog options, including Polaroid, Medium format and Curtis even has a 4×5 if you are feeling patient. We are currently looking into setting up a darkroom as well, so we’ll keep you posted.
Well the Photo Bang Bang site has been up long enough… so it’s time to change this “Welcome to Photo Bang Bang” post and start to blog a bit about what is going on at Photo Bang Bang and what’s in store.
I guess the first thing we should mention is our new facade. Joel Spencer of Happenstance Studios over at 222 E Imperial painted the facade of the building. He did a kick-ass job. Joel offers a variety of Creative Services. He builds, paints and has had a hand in the aesthetic of many of our storefronts downtown.
As you will be able to see by navigating through the site, we are offering studio rental at really low prices for local Las Vegas photographers, both professionals and students alike. You can also hire Marcos or Curtis (as always) for a variety of photo work.
COMING SOON we are going to be offering lighting workshops at Photo Bang Bang. You’ll actually learn something in this lighting workshop though, not just show up with your camera and take photos of girls with no instruction.
Okay, that’s it for now… we’ll try to make sure it isn’t six months until the next post.
